|CLE Requirements||12 credits per reporting year, including 2 credits in legal ethics.
Beginning November 1, 2010 attorneys are limited to 8 credits per compliance year for prerecorded delivery. VA reporting year runs from November 1 to successive October 31.
Compliance Date: Attorneys must earn the required credit amount by October 31 of reporting year.
Reporting Deadline: Attorneys must certify completion of the required MCLE credits for the preceding reporting year by December 15.

NOTE: All on-demand courses expire at midnight October 31 each year but may be renewed for CLE credit upon request.|
|Telephone Seminars||Approved provider; ALI CLE accredits live telephone seminars for Virginia CLE credit on a course-by-course basis.|
|Video Broadcast Replays||Approved provider; ALI CLE accredits pre-recorded audio/video programming for Virginia CLE credit on a course-by-course basis. A maximum of 8 credits may be satisfied in this format.|
|Self-Study||Format not approved by the Virginia State Bar.|
|Reporting||ALI CLE will provide the proper Virginia-specific form upon completion of any course in any delivery method. Virginia attorneys are responsible for sending the form to the Virginia State Bar or reporting earned credits online at http://www.vsb.org|
|Hour Calculations||60 minutes = 1 credit, rounded down to nearest half-hour; no pervasive ethics|
