Ohio

MCLE Requirements 24 credits every 2 years including 1 credit in legal ethics, 1 credit in professionalism and .5 credits in substance abuse. Newly admitted single course of 12 hours determined by New Lawyer Training program by end of the calendar year following admission.

OH attorneys are divided into one of two Reporting Groups in an alternating 2-year reporting period cycle.
Attorneys A-L: Odd years (e.g.2011)
Attorneys M-Z: Even years (e.g.2012)

Reporting Deadline: On or before January 31 of their reporting year, attorneys must certify completion of the required MCLE credits for the preceding 2-year compliance period.

Live Courses CLE credit is awarded on a course-by-course basis; please contact the MCLE Team at TeamMCLE@ali-cle.org for information on specific courses.
Live Webcasts CLE credit is awarded on a course by course basis for full webcasts; individual segments of a webcast may not be approved for Ohio CLE credit. Please contact the MCLE Team at TeamMCLE@ali-cle.org for information on a specific webcast. Ohio attorneys may apply up to 12 credits of approved self-study per compliance period. Reporting ALI-CLE reports attendance/earned credits to the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on CLE.
Hour Calculations One credit per 60-minutes of instruction rounded to nearest quarter-hour.
