Arizona

MCLE Requirements 15 credits per year including 3 credits in professional responsibility including ethics, professionalism, malpractice prevention, substance abuse, stress management, attorneys' fees, and client development.

Compliance Date: Attorneys must earn the required credit amount by June 30th, the end of the educational year (July 1-June 30).

Reporting Deadline: By the following September 15th, attorneys must certify completion of required MCLE credits via online or hardcopy affidavit.
 
Delivery Format ALI CLE Accreditation Status
Live Courses The State Bar of Arizona does not approve or accredit CLE activities for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirement. ALI CLE courses may qualify for varying numbers of CLE credit, including professional responsibility credit. Please contact TeamMCLE@ali-cle.org regarding possible hours available for specific programs.
Live Webcasts Allowed as interactive CLE credit
On-Demand (Online) Allowed as interactive CLE credit
Telephone Seminars Allowed as self-study credit; maximum of 5 credit hours per compliance period
Video Broadcast Replays Allowed as interactive CLE credit
CD-ROM Allowed as self-study credit; maximum of 5 credit hours per compliance period
Self Study Allowed; Verification of Self-study would include the purchase or rental agreement, if applicable, notes made while viewing or listening, and file notes establishing the date of self-study, name and sponsor of the program.
In-House Programs Minimum 5 attorneys; allowed as interactive CLE credit
Reporting Attorneys report credit to the Arizona MCLE Committee by Affidavit containing at minimum:
1) Name, address, and attorney number
2)The period of time for which the Affidavit is being filed
3) An oath or affirmation that the attorney has read and fulfilled the MCLE requirements pursuant to the Rule for the educational reporting period covered by the Affidavit.
Hour Calculations Interactive: Divide total number of minutes of instruction or participation by 60 and round down to nearest quarter hour; do not include breaks.
Self-study: Credit hours earned by self-study of CLE program materials shall be equal to the hours of presentation of the seminar on which the materials are based, or the actual time spent in Self-study, whichever is less.
