Current Key Aspects of Commercial Real Estate Leasing to be Explored at Upcoming ALI CLE Conference


PHILADELPHIA, December 1, 2017.  American Law Institute Continuing Legal Education (ALI CLE) has announced that Commercial Real Estate Leases  will be held on February 8 - 9, 2018 in Austin, Texas. This “best in class” conference, revised and refreshed annually, aims to ensure that real estate professionals keep current with the complex issues encountered when working with lease transactions and offers.

Through lively panel discussions and ample networking opportunities, a national faculty will engage conference attendees with their unique perspectives and provide real world guidance for addressing clients’ needs during critical periods that could make or break a commercial real estate deal. New to this year’s faculty is Jane Snoody Smith of Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP. Her expertise includes evaluation of distressed properties along with the development, sale and leasebacks of multifamily, office, and hospitality projects, hospitals and medical facilities, and shopping centers and public private partnerships, including the Waller Creek project.

Relevant topics to be addressed at the conference include:

·       Key issues and strategies lease negotiation, including retail, office, and ground leases

·       Drafting and negotiating skills and techniques from the viewpoints of landlords, tenants, and lenders

·       Ethical issues in the leasing practice

·       Recent statutory and case law developments
