What You Will Learn
Irving Younger was the most sought-after speaker of his time for bar association conventions, law school graduations and the like. His wide and varied background, together with his dynamic talent, provide a universal appeal that is the basis for his unparalleled reputation for excellence in continuing legal education.
The six programs in this series represent the gold standard of trial advocacy training. Recorded near the end of Professor Younger’s career, they contain the full breadth of his knowledge and his charm. The techniques he discusses – the human responses and frailties – are timeless and universal. His instruction remains valid and valued as much today as it was then.
Professor Steve Easton introduces each program in the series by updating the few changes in law and procedure that have occurred since the original Irving Younger recordings.
Stephen Easton is the C.A. Leedey Professor of Law at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. Prior to that, he was a partner in the firm of Pearce & Durick, where he concentrated on product liability and insurance defense. Easton is the author of How to Win Jury Trials: Building Credibility with Judges and Jurors, published by the American Law Institute - American Bar Association Committee on Continuing Legal Education. He has also been published in both the legal and popular press, including The Federal Lawyer; The Practical Litigator; For the Defense: The Magazine for Defense, Insurance and Corporate Counsel; Stanford Law Review; The Wall Street Journal and USA Today.
